Um quê de quilo

Produced in 2010, the documentary Um quê de quilo has a special flavour for us.  It was our first official work, the group’s first idea to materialize and be transformed into an audiovisual created and produced in its entirety by our team. The video follows the routine of a family who produces the famous Queijo Canastra, a type of cheese declared immaterial heritage by Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan – National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage) in 2009. We recorded it in Vargem Bonita, Minas Gerais, at the foot of Serra da Canastra’s national park, one of the main cheese-producing regions in the country. The documentary unfolds some of the secrets of this typically Brazilian flavour (and knowledge).

Um quê de quilo originated in a series of reportages made by João Correia Filho, from Mó Documental, and published in various media outlets. Its images are also part of the documentary and can be seen in the gallery on your right.
